Corrina is a versatile percussionist who performs a wide range of musical styles. Along with a great deal of performance opportunities, playing experience and growing knowledge, she adapts and fits comfortably in many musical situations.
As Principal Percussion in London’s West End theatre she currently performs on 42nd Street (Theatre Royal Drury Lane) and has also performed as principal percussionist on shows Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sister Act, Monty Pythons Spamalot, Mel Brooks The Producers, Anything Goes, The Full Monty and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Beautiful Game.. Along with productions at the National Theatre: Cyrano de Bergerac, Luther and The Villains Opera.. Twelfth Night with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford and the West End.. We the People, King Lear, Much Ado About Nothing and Mysteries at Shakespeare’s Globe as part of the band both onstage and off. In 2008 she played drumset and percussion for the production The Thief of Baghdad at Linbury studio, Royal Opera House.
Corrina has recorded in the percussion section for films Isle of Dogs, Beauty and the Beast, Born in China, Breaking Dawn: Part 2 (Twilight Sagas), The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Les Miserables (2012), In the Heart of the Sea, How to Train Your Dragon 2, Hamlet (2009 BBC film), Zozo and Luther (BBC drama series). From Russia with Love soundtrack for Play Station 2, with the RPO. Peter Pan, stage spectacular, soundtrack played on European Tour. Soundtrack for Kung Fu Panda (Disney Park).
On television she played the cups with the Mahatma Skiffle Orchestra for Zingzilla’s BBC episode Washing up, played hand drums on Crocodile (Sky Arts TV Live at Riverside Studios, Hammersmith) and a performance of Something’s Coming with Downton Abbey’s Julian Ovendon (The Elaine Paige Show, Sky Arts).
She has recorded percussion on a number of albums including Live at the Blues West 14 (Mo Foster Band), La Saboteuse (Yazz Ahmed Family Hafla Band) and Finding My Way Home (Yazz Ahmed).
In 2001 Corrina was invited to join actor Joseph Fiennes together with director and producer David Gothard on a journey in Tibet. Travelling for three weeks over in Tibet exploring music and language through performing excerpts from Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
Corrina played percussion with the orchestra for Hans Zimmer’s concerts Hans Zimmer Revealed live at the Hammersmith Apollo, played in the band for the Python’s reunion Monty Python Live shows at the O2, London and for the Olivier Awards 2015, Royal Opera House. Other orchestral performances include playing drumset on Over the Stone (Karl Jenkins, English Chamber Orchestra) and percussion on A Linha Curva and Anatomica3 with Rambert Dance Company. Cinderella, Romeo & Juliet and Swan Lake with English National Ballet. Played frame drums for Hofesh Shecter’s Untouchable and with the on stage band for Carmen (Carlos Acosta) at the Royal Opera House.
Corrina was a Drum Captain for the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony performing Pandemonium live on stage at the stadium. She recorded percussion on the official soundtrack Isle of Wonder for the games, including And I will Kiss and Caliban’s Dream (Underworld).
She has played drumset and percussion regularly with Yazz Ahmed’s ensembles and percussion with her Family Hafla Band performing at the Berlin Jazz Festival, Blue Note Jazz Festival in Paris, a trip to Bahrain and at the South Bank venues and the Vortex Jazz Club as part of the London Jazz Festival. She has also performed with All Bluff & Porterage, Issie Barrett’s 50th Birthday Ensemble, The Hkippers Band, First Light, Hans Kollers New Memories, Voxtet, Saladin’s Orchestra, Dufay Collective, Bardos Band, The Flautadors, Mukka, Mediva, Concenantes & Electra Strings.
Corrina has taken rhythm masterclasses on both the Jazz and Orchestral course at Trinity Laban, London.
